What to do if you pool has cloudy water.
Cloudy pool water is often caused by a buildup of debris, bacteria, or other contaminants in the water. Here are some steps you can take to fix cloudy pool water:

Test the Water: Use a pool testing kit to determine the pH, alkalinity, and chlorine levels of your pool. Adjust these levels as needed to ensure they are within the recommended range.
Shock the Pool: Shocking the pool means adding a large amount of chlorine to the water to kill off any bacteria and algae. Follow the instructions on the shock treatment package and be sure to run your pool pump for at least 24 hours after adding the shock treatment.
Run the Pump and Filter: Keep the pump and filter running for at least 8 hours a day or as recommended by the manufacturer. This will help filter out any debris and keep the water circulating.
Backwash the Filter: If you have a sand or DE filter, backwash it to remove any trapped debris or contaminants. If you have a cartridge filter, clean or replace the cartridge as needed.
Use a Clarifier: If the water is still cloudy after shocking the pool and running the pump and filter, you can try using a pool clarifier. This will help clump together small particles so they can be more easily filtered out.
Vacuum the Pool: Use a pool vacuum to clean the bottom and sides of the pool. Be sure to vacuum slowly and overlap each pass to ensure you remove all debris.
Maintain Proper Water Chemistry: Once your pool is back to clear water, it is important to maintain proper water chemistry to prevent future cloudy water. Test the water regularly and adjust the levels as needed.
